I really enjoyed this book.I would like to start coloring my hair at home so need to learn a lot more.It explains the history well and how Hair coloring began which was so interesting.It then explains the psychological aspects of hair color and specifies with blondes, brunettes, and red heads for examples of how we act and think as a society. I think it nailed it.I like that it provides the color wheel and explains how certain colors across from each other neutralize one another. It defines ways to color, what they used, and different techniques of how to do it.I wish I could’ve learned more about peek a boo highlights throughout the hair but they didn’t include that. It had a pretty good selection although, it didn’t have that in there.I think they could’ve elaborated more on sectioning since it’s so crucial; however, they did show pictures for some sectioning in techniques which is a MUST.I also wish they explained more of why things ought to be the way they are because there are some things I don’t understand.I like that they highlight diagonally along the ears and straight across and back towards the face so less root show later on which a lot of salons forget or why ever they chose to prefer the way of to the sides going down.It explained well about color correction and lightening effects on the hair as well as semi permanent and permanent hair color which is awesome. The pictures were pretty good for the most part; I would have more of the sectioning explained and shown more of it were me but it did elaborate on some of the different techniques.It encourages proper hair care and coloring I believe with what I’ve previously learned so I applaud them for that as well as the price!It helps with supplies you’d need as well.I’m glad I bought this book and did learn a bit, and I’ve never been to a cosmetology school.Books are my school right now.I think anybody would enjoy this book who have a desire to learn about hair coloring.Thank you!
