This is a wonderful book about friendship. Very well written and beautifully illustrated. In this day and age, it teaches kids that friends can look different than you and that is ok. The story is constructed very simply and it is easy for kids to follow. I read this book at a friend’s house and had to buy a copy for my children. Highly recommend it.
My 2-year old finds this book hilarious. She gets the joke and loves to read it almost daily. It's also fun for adults to read and doesn't get old like many other children's books.
We borrowed this book from the library, and could not stop reading it. A simple story about making friends, Ribbit is an excellent children's book. Wonderful colorful pictures, great expressions both in the writing and on each animal's face, and simple language and repetition for younger children. This book will be in our home library for good now. Highly recommend!
I love this book and so does my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She will take the book and "read" it on her own. She knows when to read "Ribbit". The book gives the adult a chance to discuss how the pig wanted to make friends. People want to make friends too,but sometimes they are ignored because they look different. Very good book to read aloud for children 2-9.
My twin toddlers love this book! The illustrations are engaging and funny and they are opportunities to make lots of voices due to the ongoing conversation in the book. I also have the twins run heir fingers under the big print words "RIBBIT" and "STOP" to encourage the early reading skills of reading from left to right. It's one of their favorite things to "read" in the book.
Lovely story. The animals have to figure out that the pig just wants to be friends! It is a wonderful book for preschoolers, who are just starting to understand and recognize the feelings of others. The illustrations are delightful. My 5 year old still cracks up at the expressions on the frog's faces.

Wonderfully illustrated book about fitting in and making friends. Is the little pig mocking the frogs or is she trying to be friendly. In our over analytical world, the outrage of the animals is hysterical. Great book to introduce discussion on people who are different, what we might do to fit in, and the power of acceptance. "Ribbit!"
