This collection of poster-sized maps is useful, but not required, for anyone running Paizo's "Ironfang Invasion" Adventure Path for the Pathfinder roleplaying game.The first map depicts the larger region where most of that Adventure Path is set, namely the contested borderlands located between southern Nirmathas and northern Molthune. This is basically the same map included on the inside cover of each installment of that Adventure Path, but without the shaded area showing the extent of the hobgoblin occupation and without some of the locales which are specific to that particular part of the adventure. This map avoids spoilers by not providing locations which should be unknown to the player characters-- just major settlements, geographical features, and other well-known landmarks. In other words, this map provides a nice sandboxy overview of the area where the "Ironfang Invasion" adventure path is set, and it could easily be provided as a player reference for that Adventure Path, but it could also be used in an original campaign which happens to be set in the same region.The second map is of the region known as the Onyx Citadel, which I'll only describe in a perfunctory manner because too many details would be spoilerish for those interested in playing in this Adventure Path. Suffice it to say that this map, like the previous map depicting Molthune and Nirmathas, presents a large geographical region with major landmarks identified without giving away secrets from the AP. Like the first map in this folio, this map of the Onyx Citadel could easily be used as a player handout for the Adventure Path, or this could be used as the setting in an original adventure. Also, without giving away plot points from the Adventure Path, the lands of the Onyx Citadel can't normally be accessed from any of the known kingdoms of the Inner Sea, which is where Pathfinder is set, so this map might not be useful for games which take place in that location.The third map in this folio is perhaps my favorite, depicting the ancient Dwarven Sky-Citadel of Kraggodan. Once again, this is the sort of map you'd expect to find in a gazetteer or guide to Kraggodan, depicting major landmarks without giving away any locations which are unique to the "Ironfang Invasion" Adventure Path and making this map suitable for use as a player handout.My one quibble with these beautiful maps is that the first map, depicting the borderland region between Nirmathas and Molthune, has no key to indicate the map's scale. There are map keys provided in each installment of the "Ironfang Invasion" Adventure Path, so a GM using that material shouldn't be completely lost when providing distance estimates for player characters, but it would still be nice if this map had a key of some sort.See my reviews of Ironfang Invasion Parts 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 for more information about the "Ironfang Invasion"Adventure Path!
